Informing California’s State Digital Equity Plan

Last month ITUP, along with our partners at the Institute for Local Self-Reliance (ILSR), hosted a Broadband Bootcamp aimed at identifying digital equity challenges to health. Throughout the event, participants connected on how digital equity impacts health care delivery for California communities. The event also included opportunities to learn about broadband, state-level opportunities to engage, and to directly contribute to the State Digital Equity Plan (SDEP) by planning actionable ways the health care sector can help close the digital divide and make the future of health more accessible and equitable.

When completed, the SDEP will deliver hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding to California and ensure our residents have affordable, high-speed internet access, as well as the skills and tools needed to participate in the digital economy.

This ITUP bootcamp report highlights findings from our broadband bootcamp that will be used to inform the SDEP!
