Explore Findings from the Older Adult BH Community Survey
As part of a collaborative effort to strengthen behavioral health supports for older Californians, Insure the Uninsured Project (ITUP), in partnership with the California Department of Aging (CDA) and West Health, conducted the California Older Adult Behavioral Health Community Survey.
The survey aimed to assess the behavioral health needs of older adults, identify gaps in services, and help inform future policies and programs that advance equity, access, and culturally competent care. Conducted between June 4 and July 9, 2025, the survey gathered input from a diverse range of stakeholders—including community-based organizations, government agencies, health clinics, advocacy groups, research institutions, and older adult consumers.
Key focus areas included social isolation, depression, cognitive decline, and barriers to accessing appropriate behavioral health services.
