Expanding Health Coverage for California Farmworkers
Over the past year, ITUP along with partners at UC Merced, California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation (CRLAF), and Diringer and Associates explored options to increase coverage and improve health care access for California farmworkers.
This issue brief emphasizes three actionable ways, identified from this work with farmworker advocates and stakeholders, policymakers can expand access to coverage for farmworkers. The brief emphasizes the identified solutions and coverage data unique to the farmworker community. These policy solutions will address remaining coverage gaps even beyond Medi-Cal expansion, regardless of immigration status, being implemented in 2024.
