Opening Keynote: California Attorney General Xavier Becerra
Attorney General Xavier Becerra is leading the legal battle in federal court to protect the Affordable Care Act (ACA). In the wake of the recent federal district court ruling in Texas v. US, which called the legality of the ACA into question, Attorney General Becerra spearheaded the effort to defend the law, securing a stay, while leading a coalition of 17 States and D.C. in filing a notice of appeal. Attendees at the ITUP conference heard the latest on the fight to protect California coverage gains!
Spirit of ITUP Award
ITUP was pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Brad Gilbert, Chief Executive Officer of the Inland Empire Health Plan, to receive the Spirit of ITUP award for 2019.
The Spirit of ITUP Award honors organizations or individuals that work collaboratively to improve the health of Californians, particularly low-income and underserved communities. The Award will be presented at the 23rd Annual Spirit of ITUP networking dinner on February 4, 2019 in Sacramento.
