2019 ITUP Regional Workgroups

Register Now for the 2019 ITUP Regional Workgroups!

ITUP regional workgroups bring together local leaders to engage in constructive dialogue, problem-solving, and identification of creative policy solutions that expand access and improve the health of Californians. Hear from colleagues in your community about real-world challenges and best practices. Catch up with colleagues and get acquainted with new leaders engaged in health reform and care coordination.

ITUP relies on the workgroup findings to inform its policy work and future convenings, including the ITUP annual statewide conference which will be held February 24 and 25 in Sacramento (See  ITUP Notes from the Field 2018 Behavioral Health in California .)

This year, the workgroups will focus on:

  • Health Reform in California. Workgroups will share and discuss federal and state reform updates, including state efforts to cover the remaining uninsured and stabilize the individual market.
  • Care coordination. ITUP will engage local attendees in a discussion on the status of local care coordination efforts for Medi-Cal beneficiaries. This topic will build on recently concluded state-level discussions organized by the state Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). DHCS gathered stakeholders in Sacramento to consider the full spectrum of care coordination in Medi-Cal managed care: screenings, health assessments, case management, care management, data, transitions in care, communication, governance, training and monitoring through meaningful metrics.

What are the local challenges and barriers to effective care coordination? What are local and regional best practices? As ITUP refines this topic, we will invite local experts and stakeholders to share information about county and regional programs such as Whole Person Care, Whole Child Model, Coordinated Care Initiatives and other local efforts to ensure meaningful access to care through the managed care delivery system.

Come join the ITUP team and your colleagues to get the latest updates on state and federal health reform and share local challenges and best practices.

Lunch will be served at all workgroups. If you have any dietary restrictions, require physical accommodations, or have any questions, please contact ITUP External Affairs Coordinator Emili LaBass, at emili@itup.org
